The opening and intro to the first season of the excellent HBO show "The Wire", in which Detective McNulty learns about how America works. When I uploaded the Season 2 intro over a year ago, I think it was one of about five videos that were on YouTube about The Wire. I'm happy to see all the recognition it's gotten since then! Although I made this video the content is © HBO, if you enjoyed it please purchase the DVDs! Region 1 - Region 2 -

@ivypoison19 : XD! Good job. That got a great chuckle at me. You should try trolling some other message boards or comments section. That was grade "A". Trolling truly is an artform.

sure couldn’t count lol most of them barely could speak proper english most of them got caught rather quickly like I said before I much rather watch something like dexter the wire just isn’t my cup of tea

Ok let me get this straight because we see a cheap knock off black version of the sopranos it’s different and unique are you serious lol oh yeah and you’re wrong about them being smart most of these gangsters actually was pretty dumb the only intelligent ones was Russell and Avon everyone else was pretty uneducated I remember scenes where they was playing checkers on a chess board because they was too lazy to try and figure out how to play chess the correct way also for beings drug dealers

@Reqrezentin : That season did have good acting, and I felt that showing Frank Sabotka's "poor" life was good indeed. The show was never all about action at all. More about dialog. But season 2 contained tons of action as well. And chill out, I'm just trollin you. I perfectly accept your opinion.

@ivypoison19 : And chill out man, I was just trollin' you for a bit like I was with Reqrezentin

@ivypoison19 : Sure. First off, this is the first show with black drug dealers that show them as on the same level as the cops. They think, their smart, and their a step ahead many times. It's almost Sopranos esque. Their not stupid dumb black people as portrayed in most shows. I also feel that the gangland situations are done much better than they are in other shows. I look back at the show, and it's way more different than most of the stereotypical gangsters we've seen. Gotta watch more.

@Notebookwriter1 oh please inform me tell whats so different about the gangsters in the wire that we haven't seen before please tell me I wanna know lol
Notebookwriter1 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
@ivypoison19 : Except that's the thing. These guys aren't the same old "gangster drug dealers" If you paid attention to the show more, and watched more episodes you'd understand that.
ivypoison19 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
@Notebookwriter1 Also, the whole "gangster drug dealers" character is so played out and so old. That's why I enjoy Dexter more. Watching Dexter as he tries to juggle both a normal life and a life as a serial killer with an ethics code to follow. They give you something new and exciting: A serial killer that works in forensics for the police.
